  • 10% of the base rate for 3 years
  • Up to 4 points on a suspension calculation
  • 6 hours online, finish within 30 days

Saratoga County is a Northway county. Saratoga Springs, Clifton Park, Wilton, and Malta send cars down I-87 toward Albany every weekday. Track season adds a different kind of traffic. Neither pattern changes the 10% base-rate rule or the 18-month point window.

How it works

  1. 1 Enroll at checkout The button opens American Safety Institute’s checkout. This site does not change that address.
  2. 2 Finish the 6-hour course DMV says the internet course includes 320 minutes of instruction and must be finished within 30 days.
  3. 3 Certificate, then your insurer The sponsor tells DMV. You give the paper certificate to your insurer. Points stay on your record.

Statewide rule, short version: a 10% reduction for three years in the base rate of your current automobile liability, no-fault, and collision premiums, if you are the principal operator. Up to 4 points come off DMV’s suspension math, not off the record. The full limits are on the 6-hour course page.

Roads that matter here

  • I-87. The Northway runs the length of the county toward Albany and Glens Falls. It is posted.
  • Route 9. The older parallel through Clifton Park, Round Lake, and Saratoga Springs.

DMV office

The internet course does not require a trip to a DMV office. If you need an office for a permit, a license, or a driving record, search the NY DMV office finder for Saratoga County. Hours and which transactions an office handles change, so use that live list instead of a copied address.

What stays the same

Clifton Park garages and Albany jobs are a standard commute. The principal operator receives the reduction. A spouse who also finishes the course does not double it. The Albany pages cover the other end of I-87.

If you are 18 or older and still need a first New York license, that is the 5-hour pre-licensing course, not this one.

Questions for Saratoga County

I got two Northway tickets, one in Saratoga County and one in Albany County. Do they add up?

Yes, if the violation dates fall in the same DMV window. The course does not separate tickets by county. It also does not remove them from the record.

Does Saratoga County have its own course price?

No. This site links to one statewide checkout for the New York 6-hour internet course. American Safety Institute publishes the fee on its course page, and the checkout page shows the amount due. The DMV point and insurance rules do not change by county or city.
