  • 10% of the base rate for 3 years
  • Up to 4 points on a suspension calculation
  • 6 hours online, finish within 30 days

Warren County is Glens Falls and Lake George, where the Northway meets summer traffic headed for the lake. Queensbury is where many of the cars are garaged. A July Saturday on Route 9 and a January commute on I-87 are the same point system.

How it works

  1. 1 Enroll at checkout The button opens American Safety Institute’s checkout. This site does not change that address.
  2. 2 Finish the 6-hour course DMV says the internet course includes 320 minutes of instruction and must be finished within 30 days.
  3. 3 Certificate, then your insurer The sponsor tells DMV. You give the paper certificate to your insurer. Points stay on your record.

Statewide rule, short version: a 10% reduction for three years in the base rate of your current automobile liability, no-fault, and collision premiums, if you are the principal operator. Up to 4 points come off DMV’s suspension math, not off the record. The full limits are on the 6-hour course page.

Roads that matter here

  • I-87. The Northway through Queensbury toward Albany and the High Peaks. It is posted.
  • US 9. The road through Glens Falls and Lake George Village. Summer congestion does not change the statute.
  • Route 9N. It follows the lake north. A ticket here stays on the record.

DMV office

The internet course does not require a trip to a DMV office. If you need an office for a permit, a license, or a driving record, search the NY DMV office finder for Warren County. Hours and which transactions an office handles change, so use that live list instead of a copied address.

What stays the same

Seasonal business does not give you a seasonal point credit. You can use PIRP once in 18 months for points, and you keep the insurance reduction by repeating the course every 36 months, not every summer.

If you are 18 or older and still need a first New York license, that is the 5-hour pre-licensing course, not this one.

Questions for Warren County

Does Lake George tourist season reset the 18-month clock?

No. The 18 months run from your course completion and from the violation dates, not from the tourist calendar.

Does Warren County have its own course price?

No. This site links to one statewide checkout for the New York 6-hour internet course. American Safety Institute publishes the fee on its course page, and the checkout page shows the amount due. The DMV point and insurance rules do not change by county or city.
