  • 10% of the base rate for 3 years
  • Up to 4 points on a suspension calculation
  • 6 hours online, finish within 30 days

Washington County is east of Warren County, with Hudson Falls, Fort Edward, Greenwich, and Salem spread across two-lane roads. Route 4 follows the Hudson, and many residents drive to Glens Falls or Troy for work. That cross-county commute is still one New York license.

How it works

  1. 1 Enroll at checkout The button opens American Safety Institute’s checkout. This site does not change that address.
  2. 2 Finish the 6-hour course DMV says the internet course includes 320 minutes of instruction and must be finished within 30 days.
  3. 3 Certificate, then your insurer The sponsor tells DMV. You give the paper certificate to your insurer. Points stay on your record.

Statewide rule, short version: a 10% reduction for three years in the base rate of your current automobile liability, no-fault, and collision premiums, if you are the principal operator. Up to 4 points come off DMV’s suspension math, not off the record. The full limits are on the 6-hour course page.

Roads that matter here

  • Route 4. The river road through Hudson Falls and Fort Edward toward Troy.
  • Route 22. The eastern road through Cambridge and Salem toward Vermont. It is posted.
  • Route 149. A connector toward Queensbury and the Northway. Tickets stay on the record.

DMV office

The internet course does not require a trip to a DMV office. If you need an office for a permit, a license, or a driving record, search the NY DMV office finder for Washington County. Hours and which transactions an office handles change, so use that live list instead of a copied address.

What stays the same

Fort Edward and Hudson Falls sit next to each other. People treat them as one place. DMV does too, in the sense that both towns’ tickets land on the same abstract. The course does not pick a favorite town.

If you are 18 or older and still need a first New York license, that is the 5-hour pre-licensing course, not this one.

Questions for Washington County

I work in Glens Falls and live in Hudson Falls. Which page applies?

Both describe the same statewide course. This page is the Washington County garage. The Warren County page is the workplace side. Enroll once, on the New York checkout.

Does Washington County have its own course price?

No. This site links to one statewide checkout for the New York 6-hour internet course. American Safety Institute publishes the fee on its course page, and the checkout page shows the amount due. The DMV point and insurance rules do not change by county or city.
