  • 10% of the base rate for 3 years
  • Up to 4 points on a suspension calculation
  • 6 hours online, finish within 30 days

Binghamton is the Southern Tier city where I-81 and I-88 meet near the Susquehanna. Court Street and other downtown streets are a different drive from those interstates. The Broome County page covers Johnson City, Endicott, and Vestal. This page is the city.

How it works

  1. 1 Enroll at checkout The button opens American Safety Institute’s checkout. This site does not change that address.
  2. 2 Finish the 6-hour course DMV says the internet course includes 320 minutes of instruction and must be finished within 30 days.
  3. 3 Certificate, then your insurer The sponsor tells DMV. You give the paper certificate to your insurer. Points stay on your record.

Statewide rule, short version: a 10% reduction for three years in the base rate of your current automobile liability, no-fault, and collision premiums, if you are the principal operator. Up to 4 points come off DMV’s suspension math, not off the record. The full limits are on the 6-hour course page.

Roads that matter here

  • I-81. It passes through the city toward Syracuse and Pennsylvania. It is posted.
  • I-88. It leaves toward Albany. Tickets stay on the record.
  • Court Street. A main city street. The course does not dismiss a ticket written here.

DMV office

The internet course does not require a trip to a DMV office. If you need an office for a permit, a license, or a driving record, search the NY DMV office finder for Binghamton. Hours and which transactions an office handles change, so use that live list instead of a copied address.

What stays the same

A city conviction and a Vestal conviction add together. The course does not treat a college-town ticket as lesser. Up to 4 points can come off the suspension calculation, and the tickets stay visible to an insurer.

If you are 18 or older and still need a first New York license, that is the 5-hour pre-licensing course, not this one.

Questions for Binghamton

Is Binghamton’s course different from the Broome County course?

The checkout is the same statewide link. Use this page for the city and the county page for the Triple Cities around it.

Does Binghamton have its own course price?

No. This site links to one statewide checkout for the New York 6-hour internet course. American Safety Institute publishes the fee on its course page, and the checkout page shows the amount due. The DMV point and insurance rules do not change by county or city.
